SUSTAINABILITY

SUSTAINABILITY AND ETHICS
Island’her is a small business dedicated to ethical practices.
Owner Carly runs all of the business aspects from design, fabric selection and printing, web design, posting and customer service from her home on the south coast of Australia. Working closely with  her are two balinese locals Wayan and Agus. Wayan helps with getting stock from A to B and Agus along with his family hand makes every garment from the comfort of his own home.
We believe in small run production to keep our business family run.  We use any left of fabrics to create beautiful surfboard socks and any left over pieces we give to the local surfer girls of west java.

All collections since the end of 2022 are made from recycled fabrics such as Carvico and Repreve. These materials are made from recycled plastic bottles, old fishing nets and consumer waste.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • We produce limited quantities of products each collection, and only produce styles as required to minimise waste and limit our environmental impact.
  • We have eliminated the use of water from our production processes.
  • All customer orders are packaged in a reusable organic cotton drawstring bag.
  • All orders are shipped using 100% biodegradable packaging.
